I get asked often if I shoot alone or in a team. My response is that I am a lone shooter, but I do offer a second shooter option for your wedding photography package. Many times brides and grooms are totally fine with having me cover their wedding alone. Although I try and capture every moment of a wedding, I'll be the first to admit that I am not Superwoman. I can't always be in two places at the same time, even though I wish I could :) So this is where a second shooter comes in very, very handy, especially when there is limited time or a huge wedding party!
In the ceremony for instance, I'll do the main photography like exchanging of the rings, the first kiss, etc. But my second shooter will get angles and areas that I can't cover because of limited space, limited time, and trying to not be too noticeable.
At a recent wedding, after the bride and groom had sealed it with a kiss and walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, I captured the happy couple right away. But after they passed me, the music changed and they busted out some funky dance moves! There was no way I would have been able to get their faces and awesome moves from where I had positioned myself. Luckily I had Melissa with me (my second shooter), and she got some great images that I am so happy to present to the couple!
So, I highly recommend the second shooter option for your wedding :) And here is an image from the same wedding mentioned above. The image on the left is mine, and the image on the right is Melissa's. These were taken at the same time but they each have a completely different feel!
And now onto 2011 pricing...
Since I started doing wedding photography, my pricing has remained relatively low the past couple of years. But with each wedding or photography session, I'm learning! Yay! With that learning, I think my images are getting better and more unique (are they?). I am by no means perfect, and I will never let myself get stagnant or let myself think I have nothing left to learn. I love learning and trying new things, and I love photography so it's a win-win!
I've increased a little here and there, but I think I need to completely revamp my packages. With that said, my pricing for 2011 is going up after next month and there will be major changes to reproduction rights on your images. So, if you are considering me as your wedding or family photographer next year, I'd recommend contacting me now instead of waiting after the holiday season to lock in on my current pricing. Eeek, can you believe it is almost 2011!?
